“Estcourt is in the northernmost part of Maine, where Dead Brook joins the Saint Francis River. Visitors can camp, fish, and hunt. This project continues previous work to enhance flying opportunities for area recreational pilots,” Rowe said.
Rowe drove to the airstrip in June to work alongside the NMW folks to assemble the facilities and complete the project.
The RAF manages this airfield, similar to Red Pine (82ME) and Ragmuff (ME26), in cooperation with NMW. Visitors to the airfield are required to contact and pay the NMW either a day use or an overnight camping fee if utilizing the campground. See the North Maine Woods website for current fees.
