Taylor Flat, UT

ABOUT

Taylor Flat Airstrip offers a breathtaking backcountry experience that rivals the iconic airstrips of Idaho and Montana. Nestled deep in a remote corner of Utah, the airstrip provides a rare opportunity to camp beneath brilliantly dark skies in a quiet, remote setting far from crowds and civilization. Just a quarter-mile walk from the runway, the wild and scenic Green River offers exceptional catch-and-release fly fishing in one of the most isolated and pristine stretches of river in the West — a place so remote that few ever experience it except by air. For backcountry pilots, Taylor Flat is more than an airstrip; it is a gateway to adventure, solitude, and an unforgettable piece of the Utah backcountry.

AIRSTRIP TIMELINE

“The RAF and UBCP teamed up to revitalize the airstrip, which had been dormant for thirty years. We are grateful for the twenty-five volunteers who hand-picked rocks from the airstrip, which were reused to mark the runway corners and threshold.”

- Wendy Lessig, RAF Utah Liaison
