June 21-23, 2019, Cornucopia Field, Cornucopia, Wisconsin Come to the town of Cornucopia for a fun summer fly-in at Cornucopia Field (WI23) Cornucopia is a quaint little town on the northern edge of Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior. Come for a weekend of camping under the stars and see the sights of this special place. Fun things to do while you are there: Kayak on Lake Superior and see the amazing sea caves Visit the beautiful Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Take a boat trip out to see the islands Hike to see the local waterfalls (need handout map) Join in the fly-out and see the beautiful Lake Superior Shoreline from the air Fly over to Duluth for a Cirrus factory tour Event RSVP We have had fantastic interest in this event and are closing registration as of 4/29/2019, as we have reached our limit of 20 airplanes. While we would love to accommodate more planes, it is a small airstrip and we just don't have the room to park any more. Our hope is to clear some brush in the next year and be able to accommodate more planes at the next event. Lodging Camp under your wing at the airfield or stay at one of the following places. Primitive camping under your wing is available at the airfield. Amenities will include a porti-potti, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Showers are available at Siskiwit Bay Marina for $5. The below lodging options are all located in the Town of Cornucopia about a mile from the airstrip. Siskiwit River Cabins – 815-761-2940 Two bedroom cabins @ $115 per night Inquire for other options Cornucopia Sweet Retreat – 651-470-9084 Very nice apartment style lodging with a private entry and great deck with a grill. Camp on the shores of Lake Superior – Access to bathroom and shower. 3 sites - $20/night Siskiwit Bay Marina – 715-742-3337 Meals There will be a group meal both Friday and Saturday evening at Corny Coffee at a cost of $15.00 Coffee and sweets will be provided Saturday and Sunday mornings at the airfield starting at 7:00am Lunches will be on your own. Great food is available at a number of places in Cornucopia including Little Nikki’s Restaurant and Tavern, and Corny Coffee, Ehler’s General Store, and Star North Convenience Store. Duluth is 53 sm due west of Cornucopia. Plan to attend the pilot briefing at 9am and depart shortly thereafter. There will be a planned lunch stop at TBD.
