We’d love for you to join us at an RAF event in February! Short descriptions of February events are below; please visit our Event Calendar for full details.

Runway Clean Up at Grand Gulch Mine Landing Strip, Arizona, February 3

The RAF and Utah Back Country Pilots (UBCP) invite all backcountry pilots to a "Runway Clean Up Day" at Grand Gulch Mine landing strip.  The strip is reported to be in good condition and will not need much other than some weed removal and sprucing up the parking area.

Grand Gulch is the site of a historic and prolific copper mine near the north rim of the Grand Canyon.  Just a short walk from the strip you can see many of the historic buildings and two abandoned Euclid dump trucks originally used in the construction of Hoover Dam.

Bring your own lunch and water.

Aviation Day at the New Mexico Legislature, New Mexico, February 8

Organized by the NM Airport Managers Association and NMDOT Aviation Division, this is an opportunity to meet with legislators and raise awareness of issues relevant to general aviation. The RAF will have an informational table at the event, and an RAF banner will be hung from the Capitol Rotunda.
